Our Belief

Why Montessori?

The Montessori method is a child-centered educational approach developed by Dr. Maria Montessori over a century ago. It emphasizes hands-on learning, self-directed activity, and collaborative play in a carefully prepared environment.

In a Montessori classroom, children choose their own work from a range of age-appropriate activities. This freedom within structure builds independence, concentration, and intrinsic motivation — skills that serve children well beyond preschool.

At The Arbor Montessori School, we follow the AMS curriculum across five key areas: Practical Life, Sensorial, Language Arts, Mathematics, and Cultural Studies. Each area is designed to meet children where they are and guide them to the next stage of development.
