Montessori Curriculum

Our AMS-aligned curriculum covers five interconnected areas of learning. Each area is designed to build on the child's natural development and curiosity, using hands-on materials that make abstract concepts concrete.

Practical Life

Practical Life activities build independence, coordination, concentration, and a sense of order. Children learn to care for themselves and their environment through real, purposeful tasks.

Example Activities

Pouring, spooning, buttoning, sweeping, hand washing, food preparation, table setting, and plant care.

Sensorial

Sensorial materials help children refine their five senses and develop vocabulary for the qualities they perceive. Through systematic exploration, children learn to classify and organize sensory impressions.

Example Activities

Pink Tower, Brown Stair, Color Tablets, Sound Cylinders, geometric solids, and fabric matching.

Language Arts

Language development in Montessori follows the child's natural progression from spoken language to writing and then reading. Phonics-based materials make abstract concepts concrete and tangible.

Example Activities

Sandpaper Letters, Moveable Alphabet, Metal Insets for writing readiness, phonemic awareness games, and early readers.

Mathematics

Montessori math materials make abstract number concepts concrete. Children progress from counting and quantity to operations, working with manipulatives that reveal mathematical patterns.

Example Activities

Number Rods, Spindle Boxes, Golden Beads for place value, Addition and Subtraction Strip Boards, and Stamp Game.

Cultural Studies

Cultural Studies encompass science, geography, history, art, and music. Children explore the world around them and develop an appreciation for diverse cultures and the natural environment.

Example Activities

Puzzle maps, land and water forms, botany and zoology studies, timeline work, art projects, and music appreciation.
