About the Teacher
Meet Rakhi Shah
Rakhi Shah is the founder and lead teacher of The Arbor Montessori School in Lisle, Illinois. Her deep passion for early childhood education and dedication to Montessori philosophy are at the heart of everything she brings to the classroom.
With several years of hands-on experience working with children ages 3–6, Rakhi has developed a strong understanding of how young children learn best — through exploration, discovery, and meaningful, hands-on experiences.
She thoughtfully creates a warm, nurturing, and welcoming environment where each child feels safe, valued, and inspired to learn. Her classroom is carefully prepared with authentic Montessori materials that encourage independence, curiosity, and a lifelong love of learning. Rakhi is committed to supporting each child's individual growth, allowing them to develop confidently at their own pace.

Teaching Philosophy
Rakhi believes that every child is a natural learner. Her role as a Montessori guide is to observe each child's interests and developmental readiness, then connect them with the right materials and experiences at the right time. She trusts children to lead their own learning within a structured, supportive environment.
In Rakhi's classroom, children work independently and collaboratively on activities that develop practical life skills, sensory awareness, language, mathematical thinking, and cultural understanding. The mixed-age setting (2.5–6 years) allows younger children to learn from older peers, while older children reinforce their knowledge by mentoring younger ones.
